Great article and thank you! :) I find it really annoying when people tell me (even when they know I'm vegan) to eat that ice-cream or to have that salad with cheese (& tuna?!) because it's "only a little bit" or that I'm "being fussy". I don't think they understand just how much veganism means to me, just how another belief may mean to another.
It's time to stop the discrimination, I know people tend to think I'm stuck up or that I think I'm "high-class" just because I'm a vegan. That's not true at all, and everyone is different. I hope in the future people will be more accepting.

This makes me think of the issue I sometimes have with people's acceptance of vegans. If I tell someone I am allergic to milk they will go out of their way to make sure I don't get any. It's very different when a person states that they choose not to drink milk. The same care to make sure the meal is dairy free goes right out the window.

It's no wonder that some vegans get annoyed. When we are invited to a meal and then there's nothing there for us to eat. Surely just once we can make an exception. The same would never be asked of a person with an allergy.

It's not a phase we'll grow out of or some half baked idea we had in the shower. Our choices should be taken into consideration just as other choices people make are.
