The Dallas Area is About to Get a Little Sweeter

By Crystal Tremblay, Guest Contributor

A “reverie” is the state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts, or to daydream. With a little support and money from a campaign, however, this dream can become a sweet reality. This is what is happening for Reverie Bakeshop, slated to open in Richardson, Texas in September.

The company was started by Nancy Castillo and Racene Mendoza, both pastry artists who became friends over a vegan chocolate cream pie. In addition to being completely vegan and animal-free, they plan on offering gluten-free items and catering services and are aiming to have 80-95% of their waste compostable and/or recyclable. From cookies to cakes to pastries, Reverie will soon be satisfying many sweet-tooth’s needs.
