The 10th Annual Portland VegFest happens this month, along with a plant-based nutrition conference. Will you be there?

Enhancing Health with Plant-Based Nutrition Conference

WHEN: September 26, 2014, 8:30am to 5:00pm (Doors at 7:30)
WHERE: Oregon Convention Center, Oregon Ball Room, 777 NE MLK, Jr. Blvd., Portland, OR
COST: $139 ($75 for students)

This one-day conference is designed for physicians, dietitians, naturopathic and chiropractic doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals interested in learning about the latest information on plant-based diets with respect to clinical nutrition and the effects of diet on chronic disease prevention and control. 6.25 Continuing Education Credits will be provided for health professionals. Northwest VEG and Adventist Health jointly sponsor this conference, along with more than a dozen other supporting organizations. A gourmet plant-based lunch will also be featured at the conference.

Speakers include Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Kent Thornburg, Caroline Trapp, MSN, Sharon Palmer, RD, Dr. Sara Love & Dr. Wendy Abraham.

COST: $8 at the door (Students with ID and seniors 65+ are $5, children 12 and under are free)

Portland VegFest, Oregon’s largest plant-based food and lifestyle event, will feature a lineup of renowned speakers and chefs from around the country, including Dr. Joel Fuhrman and cookbook authors Fran Costigan and Ellen Jaffe Jones.

In addition, attendees will enjoy the 100+ exhibitors and restaurants providing free tastings, vegan chef led cooking demonstrations, a new fashion and beauty area, fitness area and farmers market, film screenings, interactive kids’ and teens’ areas, free photo booths, bookstore, informational tables and other exciting activities.

Considered the “go-to” vegan event, Portland VegFest offers unparalleled resources, entertainment, and community building to celebrate sustainable, healthy and compassionate food choices to anyone wanting to learn more about plant-based diets. Celebrating its 10th year, this family friendly and affordable two-day festival is open for everyone, bringing together thousands of people with varying interests in plant-based food.
