Spanish Citizens Protest in the Buff
Downtown Valencia, March 14.
Citizens of Valencia, Spain protest the traditional “art form” of bullfighting, by spelling out, “S.O.S.” with their nude bodies covered in fake blood.
A banner at the protest read, “Rights for all animals. Abolition of bullfighting.”
That’s what I like to hear, “rights for ALL animals.”
Bullfighting is a Protected Art Form
Madrid, Spain has declared bullfighting a protected art form, and other regions have followed suit.
Esperanza Aguirre, head of the conservative regional government in Madrid, announced the bullfight (the corrida) would be put on the list of items of “special cultural value” that were protected by law.
This special status gives bullfighting organizers tax breaks and could bring charges against those who would try to stop bullfights for”damaging cultural heritage.”
