Who are these knuckleheads over at ABC’s Good Morning America?  They have produced a piece titled ‘A promising new drug to control obesity and diabetes is in the works’.  The video shows a graphic of a syringe sticking out of a rat’s back.  Yes.  The “scientists” are “testing” the drug on rats- not on the humans who are supposedly going to use it.

A few interesting quotes from their story: (paraphrased)

“Science is about to help you lose weight without drastic diet or punishing exercise”

~ He’s basically saying we’re all stupid and lazy.  Please tell me why a healthy, natural diet is drastic.  If one ate healthy, one could get by with exercise that’s fun.

“Americans dream of a quick fix to lose weight”

~ We’re stupid and lazy again.

“New drug suppresses appetite and increases metabolism”

~ This is an unnatural state.  This is what they’re doing to the rats right now – for our stupid and lazy selves.

“Our focus is on finding therapies to treat obesity and diabetes”

~ “Therapies.”  I’m getting more than peeved now.  You want to exploit and torture an animal to find a “therapy” to treat diseases which are (in nearly all cases) self-induced by one’s choice of diet and lifestyle.

“The weight loss drug Alli and gastric by-pass surgery are the closest thing to an obesity cure”

~ This is, by far, the most stupid of all stupid statements thus far.  Any self-induced condition can be prevented by NOT DOING THE THING THAT CAUSES IT.

“We’re beginning to understand the pathways to obesity”

~ This statement is the new champion of the MOST STUPID STATEMENT.

“Don’t give up you treadmills and salads yet”

~ Because, as we all know, if you don’t want to be obese, you’re doomed to a life of nothing but lettuce and marathons.

“It would be great if people with diabetes and medical conditions could get some help”

~ Wouldn’t it though?  If people would actually listen to their doctor, use some common sense, maybe took the time to be more intelligent, and helped themselves not get a debilitating disease that will cost them their well-being and life?  Not to mention drive the rest of our health care costs up.

The main knucklehead, the one in the middle of the Good Morning America couch, said, “there’s been no adverse effects,” regarding the new drug.

~ That’s because he has not been the test subject.  That’s the rat’s forced labor.  No one on that couch even thought once about that animal’s life.

“Hopefully science can make our lives a little bit easier- especially when you’re dealing with something you can’t control yourself”

~ Ok.  That’s it.  That is definitely the most stupidest of all stupendous statements uttered by these representatives of ABC “news.”  Because we all know by now that the obesity and diabetes epidemics that are affecting a third of all Americans is a complete pathological mystery- there’s just no way we can control our eating habits ourselves.

ABC asks, “What do you think?”

Go , go on and tell them.

Lunacy, that’s what you’ll get.  I am not going to say anything just yet about this article.  I would like you to go and read it along with the comments.  Especially the comments.  I’d like to know what your thoughts are.
