Texas State Veggie Fair

The Texas State Veggie Fair is back and better than ever!  The 2nd Annual State Fair will be located at beautiful Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake and will feature vegan vendors, cooking contests, games, and a raffle.  But that’s not all.  There’s a vegan fried foods contest!  Vegan. Fried. Foods.  Delightful!

Speakers at the event include:

  • Julieanna Hever is also known as The Plant-Based Dietitian.  She is the Executive Director of EarthSave, International, teaches for Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s eCornell Plant-Based Nutrition Certification Program, and recently released her documentary To Your Health.
  • Nathan Runkle, Founder and Executive Director of Mercy For Animals.  Since founding Mercy For Animals a decade ago, Nathan has overseen the organization’s growth into a leading national force for the respectful and compassionate treatment of farmed animals.
  • Nicole Sopko is a Chicago-based yoga teacher.  She  will give a short talk about the teachings of yoga and how they are linked with the ethics of an animal-free diet. Then give a guided yoga class that all can participate in. Be sure to bring your mat.
  • Marisa Miller Wolfson has organized roughly 70 grassroots workshops and screenings of award-winning documentaries about healthy, eco-friendly eating all across North America.  She is also behind the film, Vegucated.  She has enjoyed vegucating the 1,300+ members of her free online coaching program Vegan at Heart.
  • Amber Shea Ford is a vegan and raw food chef and will present an “Uncooking” demo featuring living food recipes from her popular blog and upcoming cookbook.
