The two culprit ingredients always impeding my search for vegan crusts are honey and milk products (whey, cheese, solids, other etc. nastiness).
Most "vegan chicken" I've tasted has had an awful, displeasing, almost disgustingly-chicken-nuggety texture. These tenders have that nice firm, but not tough, soy-wheat-gluten-y texture that works, without feeling like you're eating fibrous tissue.
Bland, blandy, blandersen. No spice, no heat, no juice, no sweet.
