Everyone is talking about re-engineering these days, especially in fashion.  We’ve seen bags made from recycled tires, candy wrappers and….firehoses?  Seems so.  Elvis & Kresse is the latest to come on the eco-fashion scene.  What’s cool about them (aside from the awesomely awesome bags and belts) is that their environmental philosophy goes further than just the products they make, it is permeated throughout the entire business.  All of the packaging is reclaimed or recycled.  So, the boxes have all been used at least once (shoe boxes, glasses boxes or grapefruit crates to name a few), the bags are stuffed with end-of-line tea bag paper, the pouches for the cardholders are made from scrap sail cloth and the list goes on and on.

And the bags, belts and more?  They are made with genuine de-commissioned British fire brigade hoses, which have been used to fight fires and save lives, were going to go to the landfill.  And don’t worry about durability either.  These accessories are made to last!  To clean, simply use an eco-friendly furniture polish to keep them looking new.  And, if you are anything like me, quick cleaning is a must.  I don’t know how I do it, but I always manage to get my bags dirty.  It’s nice to know I can spend the money on a good bag and have it easy to be cleaned and looking great year after year.  It’s money well spent and you can feel good about supporting them too.  The company has already reclaimed 40 tons of waste.  How impressive!

Go and check them out.  The website can be found here.  As for me….well I’m ordering this one today:

OH!  I almost forgot to mention, that green Vogue Photo Shoot?  You know the one with Cameron Diaz?  Yeah, she had a Elvis & Kresse belt on in one of the pictures – which you can see here if you so desire.  Guess now there’s two reasons to like Cameron Diaz.
