Anyone looking for a last-minute vegan Valentine’s Day gift knows how frustrating it can be trying to find something meaningful in a short amount of time.

Allow me to help you with that.

A Quick Note About Valentine’s Day, Capitalism & Anti-Oppression

I have to be honest, Valentine’s Day isn’t my favorite holiday. Halloween gets that honor, and I will die on that hill.

Don’t get me wrong; I am entirely in favor of celebrating loving people because the world certainly could use more of that.

Everyone benefits from more kindness and compassion.

But even with its good intentions, this holiday can have capitalistic undertones.

And since capitalism cannot work without its system built upon oppression, and veganism is about anti-oppression, we must reject capitalism whenever and wherever we can.

I know, I’m fun at parties.

All the killjoy stuff aside, Valentine’s Day does give us the perfect opportunity to show someone we care.

Those are the kind of opportunities we should take.

Last-Minute Valentine’s Day Gift Options

In short, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow.

Never fear last-minute vegan valentine gift-givers; you still have time to do something special.

Enter: Homemade gifts.

I’m a big fan of homemade gifts.

My go-to is usually food-related, so I put together a collection of love-themed foods perfect for your vegan Valentine. There’s sweet, of course, but there’s some savory thrown in too.

And if you’re looking for a few homemade non-food-related vegan gift ideas, I’ve got a couple of those too.
