Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. Let’s talk about it.

I’ll be honest. It’s not my favorite holiday. That’s Halloween, and I’ll die on that hill.

Don’t get me wrong; I am entirely in favor of celebrating loving people because the world certainly could use more of that. Everyone benefits from more kindness and compassion.

But even with its good intentions, this holiday can have capitalistic undertones.

[And since capitalism cannot work without its system built upon oppression, and veganism is about anti-oppression, we must reject capitalism whenever and wherever we can. I know, I’m really fun at parties.]

But all the killjoy stuff aside, Valentine’s Day does give us the perfect opportunity to show someone we care. And we should take it.

Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, there’s not much time to plan left. Last-minute vegan valentine gift-givers, allow me to help.

I’m a big fan of homemade gifts.

My go-to is usually food-related, so I put together a collection of love-themed foods perfect for your vegan valentine. There’s sweet, of course, but there’s some savory thrown in too.

And if you’re looking for a few homemade non-food related vegan gift ideas, I’ve got a couple of those too.
