Ithaca, NY will host it’s version of the First Annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale on Saturday, June 27 at the Aurora Street Pavilion on The Commons from 10am to 2pm. The money raised will go to help Chuck Pappas who was diagnosed with a stage-four brain tumor in March. Mounting medical bills, cancer treatments and prescription costs have already caused him and his wife to loose their home in Newfield.
The thought of a compassionate bake sale benefit is really lovely on all levels.
In addition to the bake sale, a 300-mile walk-a-thon has been planned. The event organizers, Casey Martinson and Jennifer Foy, will walk among other supporters from the Taking Action for Animals Conderence in Washington, D.C. to the Country Hoe Down at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen (!). The goal is to raise $25,000 to help cover medical expenses.
