On the occasion of one particular celebration last year, as we both filled our plates late in the afternoon, someone said to me, "I"m glad you're vegan." What they meant was they were glad because it means there's more for them whenever we eat. But, seeing as this is YDV's month of Gratitude Giveaways, I thought I'd list some reasons why I'm glad I'm vegan

I work in an office setting with a group of generous folk. It seems we are constantly celebrating a birthday or some other event with food. My team as well as my bosses are always kind enough to make sure there is vegan food for me amid the non-vegan stuff.

But, seeing as this is YDV’s month of Gratitude Giveaways, I thought I’d list some reasons why I’m glad I’m vegan:

I’m grateful for the new found ability to see things bloom… be it flowers or ideas.

Spring

I’m grateful for an expanded palate.

Garden-Cafe

I’m grateful for goats…

…and turkeys.

WFAS-turkeys

I’m grateful to be a part of something that matters.

Walk-for-Farm-Animals

Thank you for being a part of that something, too.

    @Jose: We’re glad you’re reading!

    @Olivia: I hear ya! Isn’t it great to be more adventurous with what you’ll eat?

    Expanded palate is RIGHT! As an omnivore I ate beans, cheese, and chicken. No veggies, no flavor, maybe a bowl of plain cheerios here and there, but that was IT. Since going vegan I’ll try almost any vegan food, even if it might be spicy or not my thing.
