About the Sanctuary
For the Animals Sanctuary is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong care of victims of the food farming trade. The 8-acre sanctuary, located in Blairstown NJ, is home to goats, cows, steers, pigs and hens, as well as abandoned and homeless domestic animals.
FtA actively engages in vegan outreach. Sanctuary founder Debbie Kowalski, a full-time critical care nurse, is the only live-in caregiver to the animals, providing medical care to injured animals and working tirelessly to sustain the sanctuary.
FtA’s Wishlist
Like many sanctuaries, FtA is always in need of donated items. Here is a list of their current needs:
• Work gloves (please no leather or any animal product trim).
• Tractor Supply, Agway, Target, and Kmart gift cards.
• Carrots, apples, bananas, corn on the cobs, canned corn, pumpkins, watermelon, and broccoli.
• Pitch forks, shovels, retractable razor blades, bungee cords, and wheelbarrows.
• Cat litter, cat food (both hard and soft).
• Paper towels, towels, blankets.
• Farm equipment: tractor, trailer, hay wagon, backhoe, etc.
While not on their official wishlist, they are in need of volunteers! If you’re interested in helping with barn cleaning and repairs and general farm upkeep, contact the sanctuary at [email protected].
