Help Name For the Animals’ New Resident Hen!

There is a new hen at For the Animals Sanctuary in Blairstown, New Jersey, and they need your help to give her a new, fitting name.

The Amrock hen was recently rescued and brought to the sanctuary on June 20. She was found the day before running scared on Kennedy Boulevad in Union City, New Jersey, near a live poultry meat market. Fortunately, someone was around to pull over and save her, knowing she could find a safe home for the hen at For the Animals Sanctuary. With help from a stranger, the woman was able to safely acquire the hen and bring her to the sanctuary, where she will have a safe, permanent home, away from busy roads and highways. She is a small but gorgeous hen, adorned in a pattern of black and white feathers.

To help raise funds for the new girl, the sanctuary is now offering the chance to make donations in exchange for a chance to name the hen. It’s a great opportunity to help give her a new beginning, and give the sanctuary the resources they need to provide for her. It is also an opportunity to do something personal for yourself, if you’d like to choose a name in honor of a loved one, or if you just really have a soft spot for hens. For each five dollar donation made between now and June 30^th, you will be given the chance to submit a name of your choice. The more five dollar increment donations, the more names you can submit on behalf of the hen. You can donate here. The name will be drawn on July 1^st.
