Isn't that true?

The world, we are told, was made especially for man – a presumption not supported by all the facts.… Why should man value himself as more than a small part of the one great unit of creation? ~ John Muir, naturalist and explorer (1838–1914)

In Philadelphia this weekend?

Are you looking for a vegan good time in Philly this weekend?  Well then I've got just the thing for you!  A vegan barbecue will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in Philadelphia.  Just look for the Vegan Bus in Clark Park, Chester Street between 43rd and 45th streets.  There will be hula hoops (I LOVE those!), lawn games, musical instruments, and an art project. Bring a vegan/vegetarian picnic lunch and the usual blanket and chairs for you and your vegan pals.  Free samples of veggie dogs and burgers are offered.  You can even bring a friendly dog! Please RSVP to Lisa at the following: Lisa at (215) 620-2130 or [email protected] And, if all of that doesn't sound awesome enough there is also a BYOB Fourth of July Extra-vegan-za (love that!) dinner from 6pm - 11pm at New Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant (135 N. Ninth Street, Philadelphia).  The cost will [...]

What you need to know if you're eating vegan in LA…

Vegan Beware.  It's the headline that's been making it's way around the internet ever since QuarryGirl.com's "Operation Pancake".  Sounds more delicious than a vegan warning doesn't it?  But this time "Operation Pancake" is the undercover investigation into the vegan restaurants in LA.  Undercover vegans?  Hell yeah! So here's the deal.  Seventeen vegan restaurants were chosen and 21 dishes were procured from each.  Then the "samples" were sent to an independent testing facility to see if they contained any animal ingredients.  The results were stunning with the some of the food containing egg, shellfish or casein.  Not very vegan at all, is it? It just shows how integrated animal products are in our society and how important animal activism is.  Working to expose animal ingredients in products claiming that they are vegan is so important.  This investigation, along with the outrage it has created, sends a message to the manufacturers of [...]

A big 'ole YDV Thank You…

Hi guys! I wanted to thank you all for letting us know a little more about your skincare routines.  There were a lot of great products mentioned (and links because you guys are awesome like that) and I really appreciate you sharing them with us. As promised, YDV will be sending one lucky person a lovely vegan gift.  What I did was take everyone's comment by number, put it on a piece of paper in a bowl and had a random vegan draw a number.  The lucky number this time is #7!  So, Krista, you have won and we will be contacting you shortly for mailing information. Congratulations to Krista and thank you everyone for entering.  And, if you didn't win this time, keep checking back for more give aways and contests!  :)

Well, well PETA…what have we here?

Interesting, isn't it, when things that you've said before show up later in a totally unrelated thing.  But that, when it happens, it reaffirms your position in the first place?  Yes, I think so too. Today I was perusing Ecorazzi and came across this post.  Check it out, I'll wait.  It's basically about Fiat using animals in their latest advertising.  Well, not just using them, making them be in the crash test cars themselves.  I've got stuff to say about that, like how it reaffirms the "animals are expendable" belief.  You wouldn't see a company use images of humans in a crashing test car would you?  But I'm more intrigued by the path that the links sent me on. Ecorazzi reported information found on autobloggreen.com.  So I went to autobloggreen to check it out.  The post title is, 'PETA Alert: Fiat underscores eco-friendliness using unique advertising campaign'.  And, as intended, [...]
