Bluefin tuna on way to extinction

Gone Bluefin Tuna

A proposal to ban the export of Atlantic bluefin tuna, which is a sushi mainstay in Japan, has been rejected by a UN wildlife meeting.

Why the rejection of this proposal?  Why, money, of course.  People love their sushi and other “healthy seafood,”  and will gladly pay the inordinate prices for it.

The BBC reports that Bluefin Tuna stocks have “fallen by 85% since the industrial fishing era began.”

The powers that be and the “experts” at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species have failed.  It’s up to the citizens to decrease demand for these cruel products.

Stop eating sushi and other fish.  Pass it on.

If you’re craving things rolled up in nori, with sushi spice, try a cruel-free alternative such as Spicy Tempeh Nori Rolls.
