We need to be respectful to the animals, not only by not eating, wearing, experimenting on, abusing, but by showing respect for them by watching the way we speak.

Let’s talk about using some animal-unfriendly language…do you do it?  I know I am guilty of it even though I try to be respectful.  How many times do you hear someone say “running around like a chicken without a head”??  Think about all those sayings that people don’t even think twice about using.

I think that part of being a vegan means that we are aware of our impact on animals.  This applies to the way we speak.  We need to be respectful to the animals, not only by not eating, wearing, experimenting on, abusing, but by showing respect for them by watching the way we speak.

cruel language is often institutionalized and ingrained into society. when we start to realize this and change it, we begin to be more aware of the injustice. case in point, “white trash”- referring to, what, exactly? think about it.
