It’s a great feeling to know I’m not alone

I mentioned mitigation somewhere on here before and it's just so comforting to know that I'm not alone.

It is. I live in a small town that I know other vegans live in. I know they are here as we have some vegan places to eat and tons of great vegan foods at our local health food stores. (“Some” vegan places to eat refers to 2 places, but you know what? I’m not complaining) But even with all of this at my disposal I do not know one other vegan aside from my partner. We are the only two. And I know that I am not alone in this feeling because I’ve talked to some of you and you tell me the same thing. Vegans seemingly network online, which is great, but wouldn’t it be even greater if you could network where you lived?
I think so too. But that’s not the point of this post.
I love food blogs. I am addicted to food blogs actually. One that I go to is called VeganDad. I am amazed at the meals this guy makes. I seriously want to go and eat at his house just to see what he’s going to come up with. So imagine my delight when I read that he has the same pet peeve that I do. The reusable grocery bag.
Now, don’t get all worked up. I use reusable bags – I don’t want to put plastic in our landfills as much as the next gal, but VeganDad is so spot on when he says:
“…what’s the point of using a reusable shopping bag only to fill it up heavily packaged, heavily processed crap, and animal products that are helping destroy the planet?”
Yes! He’s right and I agree. I believe I mentioned mitigation somewhere on here before and it’s just so comforting to know that I’m not alone.
Oh, and you know what else? Those freakin’ sweet n’ hot noodles look like the BOMB! I am TOTALLY making those!

I’m ALL alone, AND there’s not ONE vegan friendly restaurant in my town (Alexandria, LA)My husband is not vegan and zero of my friends are even remotely vegetarian, in fact none of them like vegetables at all. Thank God for Kroger and Whole Foods (2.5 hours away from me). There’s one lady I met and she said, “I’m vegan but I eat cheese to get protein” and I said “Then you’re not vegan if you eat dairy cheese” and she said “Yes, I am vegan” so that was the end of our conversation.
