Isn’t it lovely?  This fashionable bag was made from recycled inner tubes.  I will just let that soak in a moment.  Fashion out of inner tubes.  Huh!

Heather English got the idea for her gorgeous handbags floating on an inner tube.  According to the website Heather wanted a bag that was, well invincible but “not made from leather.”  She states:

“I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I went to McGuckin’s,

[a favorite local hardware store] bought some tools and started my own personal sweatshop—with me doing the sweating.”

The website says that truck stops in the Boulder area supply Heather with the used inner tubes.  Did you know that an inner tube has roughly 60,000 miles on it before it gets “reinvented”.  How cool is that?  Something so awesome and stylish out of an used inner tube.
