Ok, I might have gotten carried away with the R’s…hee? So, I’ve been cleaning my diet up lately. I always eat healthy but I want to incorporate more raw meals into my diet. Several years ago I went raw. It didn’t really last for me. I felt a bit too restricted by it and quite honestly I missed bread. That said, I do eat a lot of raw foods and prefer most of my veggies raw rather than cooked. So I thought I’d share some raw recipes with you so we can try them together. If you have a raw recipe, you should share it with me!
I found this over at Going Raw, a great database for raw recipes.
Asian-Style Daikon Noodles by Elizabeth
- 1 Large Daikon Radish, spiralized into thin noodles
- 1 teaspoon nama shoyu or soy sauce 1 tablespoon cold-pressed sunflower oil
- 1 dash agave or other sweetener
- 1 umeboshi plum (optional)
Spiralize the daikon (or use a peeler), set aside. Whisk together the soy sauce, oil and sweetner (add chopped plum if you choose). Mix all together and enjoy!
I am very excited about this. I have all the ingredients and I am making this tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes. Meanwhile, if you want to know about raw food or raw foodists, check out Choosing Raw. It’s a great website with a bunch of good information. Enjoy!
