NEW ORLEANS VEGGIE FEST
• What: Speakers, cooking demonstrations, live music, food for sale, free product samples, silent auction, raffle.
• Where: Cafe Bamboo, 435 Esplanade Ave.
• When: Sunday, May 17, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Cost: $5, children under 2 admitted free.
• Proceeds benefit: Humane Society of Louisiana.
• More info: www.nolaveggiefest.com.
This event will have vegetarian dishes from the festival’s site, Cafe Bamboo, plus foods from other vegan and vegetarian vendors.
And don’t think you can’t go if you aren’t vegan or vegetarian, you can!
In fact, festival spokeswoman, Dr. Leslie Brown, wants you to know that carnivores are especially invited. Because after being exposed to great vegetarian/vegan food you might “…at least consider eating fewer animal products.”
And I am all about THAT! So, if anyone is in the area go and support the veggie fest. What a yummy way to show support to the people who are making a difference every day in the lives of animals. Awesome!
