Woody Harrelson brings his meat-less to the playground

Woody Harrelson is awesome, he’s a vegan powerhouse.  He is well known for turning his movie sets into green, eco-friendly, and meat-free zones where even the disposable materials are degradable and organic.  Now that’s using your A list power for good!

And it was no different on the set of his new movie, The Messenger.  He even encouraged fellow actor, Ben Foster, to try non-dairy foods during filming.

Here’s what Foster has to say about the experience, “He walks the walk… He did drag me, begrudgingly, to several vegan restaurants, and I did enjoy them very much. I felt like I had more energy and wasn’t as foggy after eating, let’s say, a really killer steak.”

Hmmm, less foggy eh?  So, so far the food was yummy and you felt good after eating it?  Awesome.

Foster goes on to say, “But he’s not evangelical about it. He lives by his routine… If someone’s interested, he has an encyclopedic knowledge on the subject and, if we talked about foods, he’ll share a point of view, but he’s not looking for converts.”

Again, awesome stuff.  It sounds like a positive experience.  That is, until Foster says he could never give up meat because, “I like a healthy dose of blood in my diet.”
