Gratitude Giveaway: The Simple Little Vegan Dog Book

By Published On: 5 March 2012Last Updated: 17 January 2017

Cuteness, vegetables, and prizes. What more could you want in a Monday post? One week to enter, one week to win!

What's in this post

Olli used to love her vegetables.  Some of her favorites were carrots, lettuce, broccoli, celery, tomatoes, and peppers.  She loved them so much in fact, she would steal them from the grocery bags and sneak them into the living room for snacking.  She was sneaky that hound.  But she’s wasn’t the only one, her two sisters also steal veggies when I’m not looking and snack away in other rooms.  Don’t tell them but…it’s kinda cute.

While I don’t cook every meal for my animals, I do cook for them regularly.  Some of their typical meals include varying ingredients such as oatmeal, beans (any but soy), fresh or frozen vegetables, various fruits, flax meal, and olive oil.  My dogs enjoy it and I feel good about making something special just for them.

Our Gratitude Giveaway this week is a copy of Simple Little Vegan Dog Book.  It’s filled with information on transitioning your dog to a plant-based diet, as well as easy recipes for meals and treats that any canine would enjoy.  If you’ve wanted to learn more about a canine vegan diet, have questions, or you just want to add more home cooked goodness to a canine’s life, this book will get you started.

I want to clarify right now that this post is not intended to be a discussion for or against a canine vegan diet.  I am not a veterinarian, nor do I play one on the internet.  As always, the health of the canine members of your family should be discussed with your veterinarian before making significant changes to their diet.

No purchase necessary.  Void where prohibited and all that.  Contest runs March 5, 2012 through March 11, 2012.

How To Enter:

To enter to win one copy of The Simple Little Vegan Dog Book, you can do any of the actions below.  Each action counts as a separate entry, so make sure you leave a comment for each one you do (winners are selected from these comments only)!  So many ways to enter, so many ways to win! Good Luck!

There is nothing my bulldog likes better than a crunchy apple, so I think she would enjoy some more recipes.

Right now my two doxies eat vegetarian food (not homemade), but I have been wanting to try making them vegan treats and food on my own!

Twitted, followed, liked on Facebook, and posted link on my blog (http://definirmoi.tumblr.com) :D

I attempted converting my dearest Sparky to veganism, bought him vegan dog food and whatnot, but my parents kept feeding him chicken and buying that yucky animal byproduct dog food. I’m trying to slowly convert him again. x] He loves carrots and will usually sit next to me while I’m eating my vegan meals instead of sitting next to one of my parents while they eat meat, so it seems like a good start so far. :]

My current sweet boy isnot vegan, but we adopted him as a non-vegan and he’s been with us 13 years – there has been no changing this boy…but I would love for my pet to be vegan!

I follow you on Twitter and Facebook and have been broken hearted for you because it so reflects the reality I will soon be facing as my little old man starts to decline in health – after 13+ years together it will be like losing a part of myself – he is my child and I am his Mom and I *will* be devastated – my husband is fully aware I will not be functional for a period of time.

    Thanks for your inspiration… :-)

    Thanks!

My dogs are both vegan and love homemade treats! One of the lives raw veggies, they both like sea veggies and sweet potatoes. We’d put this book to good use!
