We could all use a little more empathy – for the animals we raise into lives of great pain and exploitation, for the people who buy foods because they are convenient, not knowing they are chemically tinkered with until they are addictive, and for the people who might enter into these industries under grand delusions of betterment, only to become part of the machine themselves.
I am offended that as kids we are treated like things, like objects – just throw mounds of cheese at us and be mean to the one who doesn't conform. I feel trapped, with someone else making the rules.
In case you missed it, Food Network offered up a vegan version of Chopped. And it was totally freaking awesome.
