- The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation helps retired racehorses who are frequently malnourished and infected with parasites- while being fattened up for slaughter- all because they are no longer “useful” to the industry. Horses are slaughtered for their meat which is used in food for pets and zoo animals, and also for human consumption…gross.
