  • Earthsave’s Pre-Thanksgiving Vegan Potluck will take place on November 21 from 6-9pm in Owings Mills, Maryland.  Features include  terrific food, a chance to meet and connect with like-minded people, discussion topics, and live music by Michael Harris, Norm Hogeline, Lorna Sampson, and Don Robertson in.  And, bonus, prizes will be awarded for the two favorite dishes of the evening, one raw and one cooked.  Prizes are always cool.
  • Zoocheck Canada and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are fighting to help Lucy the elephant live out her life with other elephants in California- instead of alone in Edmonton.
  • New Dawn Montana, a farm animal sanctuary in Stevensville, Montana holds a vegan potluck on the first Saturday of every month.  And, if you go, you might meet Rose the chicken and Xerxes the Turken.
  • Animal Rights Africa has petitioned the Zulu royal house in South Africa to stop the bare-handed killing of bulls during a Zulu cultural festival.  “It is not fair to put an animal through anxiety and pain, animals have feelings too.”  Their pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

    “Dozens [of people] trampled the bellowing, groaning bull, wrenched its head around by the horns to try to break its neck, pulled its tongue out, stuffed sand in its mouth and even tried to tie its penis in a knot.”
