- Morrissey teams up with Stella McCartney to create a line of leather-free (vegan all the way baby!) shoes saying, “We are still in the early stages but the shoes could be launched next year.” Sweet! Now about those prices……..
- I think this is a review of “Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar,” but I’m not sure. I got distracted by this part in the article: “The authors are not preachy or intolerant of heathens like me who eat and drink everything, which made me feel less defensive and more interested in what they had to say. My pushback on being vegan, or following any rigidly prescribed code of eating, comes from two things, I think: being raised kosher and growing up in the age of Twiggy, to whom I still bear no resemblance.” It’s just another article filled with a non-vegan points of view that knocks real veganism and reduces it to a simple diet.
- The Toledo Blade talks about PETA’s banned Thanksgiving ad saying, “It’s easy to condemn PETA’s ad as just another liberal attempt to spoil things for everyone else, but there is a more important principle at stake. Televisions stations should no more be allowed to ban vegan ads on Thanksgiving than to refuse to air Republican ads during the Democratic National Convention. How turkeys are treated before they get to the table may be an inconvenient truth, but as hunters say to people who think killing animals is barbaric, “Where do you think you meat comes from?” HELL YEAH! Whether or not you agree with PETA, their message or their ads, we can all agree that free speech is what the US was founded on. The ads should air, period. Bravo Toledo Blade, bravo.
- Seventeen year-old Jay Astagovic has been helping out at his father’s pizza shop, Three Brothers Pizzeria in Long Island. But when he became vegan, he found he had nothing to eat at the restaurant. So, he created a full vegan line up on the menu and now the restaurant serves up vegan fare. Which is awesome, just like the vat of great vegan info in the article. You should totally check that out.
