The Santa Cruz Sentinel, Superhippie Granola, VW Buses, and irony- shaken, not stirred.

In this article

Oh, the irony.  The Santa Cruz Sentinel brings us this, Hollywood chef brings variety to the kitchen table in new vegan cookbook, which says:

In today’s culinary world of gluten intolerance, raw foodists and locavores, vegan eating has wandered far from its hippie roots, leaping off the back of a VW bus and onto dinner tables nationwide.

Irony abounds! The article starts out talking about how vegan food is “far from it’s hippy roots” (sigh) and ends with a discussion on being “obsessed with my superhippie granola.”  A pro-vegan article to break stereotypes, using stereotype examples, and ending with a stereotype (which perpetuates stereotypes).

Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

Side Note: I can’t stop singing Alanis Morissette now.  Help me.
