Covance Laboratory, how do you live with yourself?
Recently, folks in Chandler, Arizona got a new neighbor. Covance Laboratory has completed a new $175 million dollar testing/torture facility. They are going to begin testing/torturing animals in the very near future. Want to know what kinds of animals they test on? Well, typically the lab use rats, mice, monkeys and beagles.
The CEO, Joe Herring had this to say at the ribbon-cutting ceremony:
“Let the record show Covance is open for business in Chandler, Arizona. We are betting the entire company on this facility. Covance has a well-established animal-care and usage policy…Our being here today is a victory for patients.’”
It’s a victory for your profit margin, Covance. The diseases (cancer, Alzheimer’s) you proclaim to “…(possibly) stop…” could be prevented by proper diet and good stewardship to our fellow animals and natural resources. You make me sick with your “well-established animal-care and usage policy” statement. Can you not imagine if my company took your loved ones and experimented on them, all the while proclaiming that I have a “well-established people(animal)-care and usage policy”?
ATTENTION COVANCE BOARD MEMBERS, STOCK HOLDERS & EMPLOYEES:
How do any of you live with yourselves? You support and/or actually, physically take part in torturing (then killing) another sentient being. A mouse, rat, beagle, or monkey cries in pain, longs for a kind touch, and dreams of running free in the sun, as you do cruel and inhumane things to them. You can’t possibly be the guy filling his gas tank next to me, or the woman ahead of me in the grocery line, or the young couple cheering with me in the bleachers, or the older gentleman sitting behind me at the theatre. Or are you? I can’t see the blackness that must be inside you to live with yourselves so I suppose it’s possible.
We’re all animals. Our vicious cycle of killing animals for food, then killing animals to find cures for diseases that are caused by eating animal flesh, must stop.
