  • The stray dogs of Pompeii are finally getting some help.  And, if you’re near Italy, you can help too by adopting.
  • Brigitte Bardot is at it again in Catalonia, this time to ban bullfighting.  The campaign “calls for a change in Catalonia’s animal protection law, which bans killing or mistreating animals in shows except in the case of bullfights.”
  • International Meatless Day and Animal Rights Day is November 25th.  Ahmedabad, Gujarat India, is hosting a “peace walk.”  November 25th is the birthday of Sadhu Vaswani, a spiritual leader and founder of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.  “While mankind rationalizes animal slaughter on the pretext of necessity for food, the (mission) believes it is unjustified violence.”
  • Atlantic Bluefin Tuna is in a dramatic decline.   Environmentalists are fighting for an endangered species listing which would put a ban on international trade. “Since most bluefin, including those caught in New England waters, is exported to Japan, the ban would essentially shut down the fishery.”  So, of course, money is clouding the real issue here- life and death.
