  • Vegan chef Tal Ronnen is developing vegan menus for luxury resorts in Las Vegas.  Ronnen says, “I hope diners will find that eating meat and dairy-free cuisine does not have to feel like a sacrifice, but a step up.”  Right on, Ronnen!
  • Jason Treger of the Animal Rights Group of Greater Philadelphia, points out the hypocrisy of serving non-vegan meals at animal rights charity events.  “Instead of patting each other on the back while chewing the remains of once-sentient beings, animal lovers should speak up for all the voiceless creatures that need their help.”
  • Iowa bill seeks to criminalize the secret videotaping of livestock cruelty.  Mercy for Animals- “As a moral society, it is our obligation to prevent all cruelty to animals and it’s difficult to end abuse when you can’t expose it.”  PETA- “They’re trying to criminalize someone being an eye witness to a crime.  The people who do the very difficult job of documenting that criminal conduct should be applauded.”
  • Letter to the editor in Tennessee encourages veganism as a solution for lowering the Global Food Price Index, which has been increasing, causing food shortages worldwide.  Speak for veganism, add your voice to the comments.
