Food is love. That’s good and bad at the same time. “They’ll have big plates of whatever, like a big pork sandwich that was just oozing with cheese and pulled pork and the meat sauce,” And then, “they would have a piece of cheesecake afterward.”

New shark species found, or a rare visitor to Australian waters? ”DNA sequencing between closely related sharks can be tricky, as it can be so similar.  They had characteristics of many different sharks but not all the characteristics of one species.”

Another article about weight loss, vegans, and vegetarians, ignoring the many dangers of consuming animal products. “So if you want to reach for that bacon burger and still lose weight, it makes sense to lose the white, high-carb bun, opt for good quality, grass-fed beef and replace the pork bacon with healthy, organic turkey bacon instead.”

More proof that global monoculture and climate change are killing the bees responsible for crop pollination. “In fact, if you map the interactions between flowers and bees, they seem more tenuous now. Some flowers may get visited by just one or two kinds of bees, and maybe just for one week. I don’t know that these systems can take a lot more environmental change without something drastic happening,”

And in other “vegan news”…

David Duchovny, who’s not vegan, eats at a vegan restaurant because his daughter is vegan. And he likes it.  “My daughter’s gone vegan recently and we like Candle Cafe, on the East and West side. So maybe I’ll get a free piece of tofu out of that plug.”

Morissey and  Jimmy Kimmel in verbal fisticuffs. Now that’s news! He (Morissey) released a statement Wednesday that accused “our smiling host” of belittling depression and gun ownership and then closed: “Tune in and relive the intellectual fog of the 1950s.”  Kimmel’s response? “Note to Morrissey,” he tweeted late Wednesday. “If you have more dumb statements to make, I invite you to make them where I do, on my show.”
