Statistics: 55% of Population on Mainly Vegan Diet by 2020 Predict Vegfest UK. “Organisers of Europe’s largest Vegan Festivals Vegfest UK have predicted that most people in the UK could be predominantly vegan by 2020 if the present surge in interest in vegan diets continues.”

From Battle To Birds: Drones Get Second Life Counting Critters. “The U.S. military and law enforcement agencies have seen on the domestic use of the robotically piloted planes known as drones. Working on the sidelines of this debate, the U.S. Geological Survey has been trying to find a second life for retired military drones in the areas of environmental and wildlife management. Instead of watching the battlefield, these drones are watching birds.”

As Florida Bill Looks To Aid Feral Cats, Opponents Claw Back. “The bill before Florida’s Senate, brought forward by community cat groups, would protect and promote trap-neuter-return programs by removing an obstacle that the groups say has halted these programs in some areas: a state law against abandoning cats. Denise Lasher works with Best Friends Animal Society, the organization that helped write the bill. “All we’re doing is clarifying that, under the definitions of community cat program,

[trap-neuter-return programs] would not be abandonment under the state law,” she told the Senate committee.”
