NOTES FROM THE FILMMAKERS
Overheated Synopsis
Overheated is a breathtaking commentary on the climate crisis that’s unlike anything we’ve seen or heard before. Central to the film are the voices who represent the frontlines of climate change: Daniella Ingabire from Burundi, one of the African nations hit hardest by flooding and the effects of the crisis, and a tribe from the Amazon rainforest & the Sámi people of Sápmi, who speak of the startling loss of indigenous knowledge and habitats. A bold and cerebral documentary that makes us think deeply about our place in the fight against climate change.
Featuring Billie Eilish, Tori Tsui, Ibeyi, Yungblud, Vanessa Nakate, Girl in Red, Finneas, Samata Pattinson, Maggie Baird, Emily Eavis, Sofia Jannok, Maggie Baird, Vivienne Westwood, Arlo Parks, Hope Tala, flowerovlove and Claud.

Critic Reviews
“. . .Overheated, directed by newcomer Yassa Khan, references that – the alarming wildfires, the devastating flooding – but, at its core, this is a collection of portraits exploring the human response to the emergency: the good, the bad and the ultimately hopeful. . .The words of these creatives are impactful, but the documentary reaches further into the soul with stories told by indigenous land-defenders: where the climate crisis is an everyday threat to their homes, culture and livelihoods.” – Greg Cochrane, NME.com.
