Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we go, so goes the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one. – Marianne Williamson
We have the chance to make history, to affect real change, right now. Let’s get to sharing our experiences as a vegan- good or bad. Let’s get to talking about the tough decisions we face when trying to purchase products responsibly- and how we feel when we discover that we’ve made a mistake. Let’s talk about how people deal with living in a world that seems to go against everything that being vegan stands for. It’s time for real discussions, and I want to hear from you.
Here’s the guidelines for submitting a post:
- The post must be relevant to veganism, after all this is a vegan website. There are no requirements as to subject matter, I do not believe in stifling creativity or other people’s voices. So, if you want to talk about last night’s seitan dinner, feel free- but you can also talk about your story of vegan evolution, fashion, celebrities, your favorite vegan restaurant, animal testing, ethics, or any other vegan thing you can think of. Please keep your post between 700 – 1000 words maximum.
- You must submit a photo to go with your post. There are no exceptions to this. If you submit a piece without a photo it will be rejected. A note on photos: Please make sure it’s yours or you provide the proper credit (if the work is permitted under a creative commons license). I don’t want to infringe on anyone’s copyrights- or get sued. I’m sure you understand.
- I will also include a short bio to go along with your piece. Please include an additional picture that will be used as your bio picture along with 3-5 sentences telling people about yourself (and/or how to connect with you). Your bio picture should be no larger than 300 x 300 pixels maximum.
- Your Guest Post must be originally created for Your Daily Vegan. I no longer reprint articles previously published on other websites.
- Information (including, but not limited to, nutritional data, factual data, health information, etc) must include a hyperlink or list original sources or references.
- I reserve the right to reject posts for any reason.
- While I support other vegans and their endeavors, the content of your guest post should be relevant to veganism and not simply an advertisement for a personal or commercial project in which you are looking for funding. I offer extremely affordable advertising with Your Daily Vegan for those who might be interested.
And, while at this time YDV does not pay for submissions, there are some pretty cool benefits from contributing. First, your post will be featured on The Daily Vegan Spin. I will also promote your work on our social networking profiles- and I’ll use my big mouth tweeting it to my 25K+ followers to help get the conversations started.
Plus you’ll get your very own YDV Contributor Badge for your blog that will link readers to the content that you have contributed to YDV. Which, by the way, makes you pretty awesome.
All of that, and you’ll be part of the growing number of folks raising awareness by raising their voices.
All you have to do is email your article (as a Word document please) along with the photos to us and wait for the magic to happen!
