It's your turn to be heard.

Become a Contributor on Your Daily Vegan- because we think you’re cool, and you think we’re cool too.

Are you vegan? Then you know that there are all sorts of challenges you face as a vegan. From deciphering food labels, all the way to critically rethinking everything you’ve ever been taught about the rights of animals- veganism isn’t always black and white. One of the things that can help is knowing that there are other people out there facing the same issues you are and hearing their stories.  It creates community, it creates a place for education- a place to share experiences so that we can all grow and evolve even further.

We have the chance to make history, to affect real change, right now. Let’s get to sharing our experiences as a vegan- good or bad. Let’s get to talking about the tough decisions we face when trying to purchase products responsibly- and how we feel when we discover that we’ve made a mistake. Let’s talk about how people deal with living in a world that seems to go against everything that being vegan stands for. It’s time for real discussions, and we want, no- need, to hear from you.

We do have some requirements however, so I’ll get those out of the way now.  First, your post must be vegan- after all, we are a vegan website.  There are no requirements as to subject matter, we don’t believe in stifling creativity or other people’s voices.  So, if you want to talk about last night’s seitan dinner, feel free- but you can also talk about your story of vegan evolution, fashion, celebrities, your favorite vegan restaurant, animal testing, ethics, or any other vegan thing you can think of.  For those interested in doing a vegan product review, please click here for additional information that you must know.  Please keep your post between 700 – 1000 words maximum.

Our next requirement is that you must submit a photo to go along with your piece.  Please make sure it’s yours, we don’t want to infringe on anyone’s copyrights- or get sued, I’m sure you understand.  We will also include a short bio to go along with your piece.  Please include an additional picture that will be used as your bio picture along with 3-5 sentences telling people about yourself (and/or how to connect with you).  Your bio picture should be no larger than 300 x 300 pixels maximum.

Here’s a few more guidelines:

  • Your Guest Post must be originally created for Your Daily Vegan.  We no longer reprint articles previously published on other websites.
  • Information (including, but not limited to, nutritional data, factual data, health information, etc) must include a hyperlink or list original sources or references.
  • We reserve the right to reject posts for any reason.
  • While we support other vegans and their endeavors, the content of your guest post should be relevant to veganism and not simply an advertisement for a personal or commercial project in which you are looking for funding.  We offer extremely affordable advertising with Your Daily Vegan for those who might be interested.

That’s it.  Oh, except that there is no limit to the number of times you can submit guest articles- we’ll feature them as often as you can write them.  Cool, right?

And, while at this time YDV does not pay for submissions, there are some pretty cool benefits from contributing. First, your post will be featured on our blog, The Daily Vegan Spin. We will also promote your work on our social networking profiles- and we’ll use our big mouth tweeting it to our more than 17,800 followers to help get the conversations started.

Plus you’ll get your very own YDV Contributor Badge for your own blog that will link your readers to the content that you have contributed to Your Daily Vegan.  Which, by the way, makes you pretty awesome.

All of that, and you’ll be part of the growing number of folks raising awareness by raising their voices.

All you have to do is email your article (as a Word document) along with the photos to us and wait for the magic to happen!

Don’t forget, we also use our website to showcase other vegans and their endeavors.  Our Vegan Events Calendar tracks events from all over and is free for everyone to use.  Our Vegan Lynx is home to our ever-growing list of great vegan resources on the web.  It’s our way of supporting the people who are trying to make a difference in the lives of animals.
